Administrative Assistant with the Virginia Autism Resource Center
Florence McLeod is an Administrative Assistant with the Virginia Autism Resource Center. Her pursuit of the human services industry began 25 years ago with KinderCare Learning Centers as a teacher and advanced to the position of District Manager. Florence attended John Tyler Community College majoring in Early Childhood Education. She also attended Lord Fairfax Community College where she earned a certificate in Interior Design. Due to the family relocating to the Winchester, Virginia area, she had the opportunity to except a position with Grafton Integrated Health Network. Florence worked in this region for about 8 years. Following her husband's retirement, the family returned to Richmond, Virginia. Florence accepted a transfer as an Administrative Assistant to Dr. Carol Schall, Director of the Virginia Autism Resource Center. She is enthusiastic about sharing resources and materials with professionals and parents. Under the leadership of Dr. Schall, she has organized and maintained the Virginia Autism Resource Center Library. Florence has also planned and scheduled Dr Schall’s training workshops across the state of Virginia. She has a passionate goal of assisting faculty, professionals and parents with the resources and materials to positively impact the lives of individuals and families with disabilities.
