Young children with ASD face many obstacles and challenges in their development, in their daily life, and in how they learn. Yet, there are also many ways to help support these young learners at home, at school, and in the community. At VCU-ACE, we believe that when we all work together to support families, to support early childhood educators, to support each other, and to support the young child with ASD, we raise our expectations of what is possible, we raise the bar for what high quality means for all children in preschools across the Commonwealth, and we raise the potential for positive outcomes that can last a lifetime.

The resources in this section of the VCU-ACE website are designed to support both aspects of a young child's life: the everyday experiences families provide and the more structured learning opportunities early childhood programs create. Our goal is to provide a 360 degree approach to supporting the needs of young children with ASD.
