The Comprehensive Autism Planning System (CAPS) is a comprehensive, yet easy-to-use system that provides a framework to assist educators in implementing an instructional program for students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
In this presentation, a detailed description of each of the essential elements of the CAPS tool is provided. These include: the activity, targeted skills to teach, structure/modifications, reinforcement, sensory strategies, communication/social skills, data collection, and strategies for generalization. Each element is designed to ensure a high-quality and consistent education is provided to the student each day.
